ALL SANDALS & BEACHES RESORTS:
● All resorts now offer nightly Turndown Service and also a Honeymoon Program where honeymooners are made to feel especially welcome on their first night (honeymoon guests must register online prior to arrival to partake in the honeymoon program).
● The “Sandals Select” program was launched. This replaces the Signature Guest program previously in place at the resorts.
SANDALS MONTEGO BAY
● The Palms Block has been renovated and the rooms upgraded with new crown mouldings, new art work, built-in corner bar unit in Concierge category rooms, bathroom fixtures and mahogany cupboards. The patio/balcony color has also been changed to Sage. The 66 refurbished rooms are in the Honeymoon Grande Luxe Beachfront Concierge & the Grande Luxe Beachfront room categories.
● The Bayside deck has received new dining room furniture – wooden tables and chocolate brown cushioned chairs.
● The Piano Bar & Swim-up bar have been refurbished and are now open.
SANDALS ROYAL CARIBBEAN RESORT & PRIVATE ISLAND
● The refurbishment of the Regency Suite restaurant is now complete. The room has been transformed to create a truly serene and romantic ambience for the guests’ dining experience. The restaurant features matted ceilings, wooden flooring, torches on the deck, new deck furniture, ornate fans and soft romantic lighting. The walls have also been painted Sage and the French doors and mouldings were redone.
● As of January 2, 2008 the Cricketer’s Arms is now open for dinner only.
SANDALS GRANDE OCHO RIOS BEACH AND VILLA RESORT
● Small refrigerators are now in all the cottages at the resort and the Zenith televisions have all been replaced with flat screen televisions in the Manor & Riviera room blocks.
SANDALS INN
● Thirty-two rooms have been painted yellow (were pink). The new bedspreads and drapes are now complimented by the new paint color.
● A roof has been added to the Carlyle outdoor grill to allow guests to dine outside.
● The resort began accepting guests on December 20, 2007.
SANDALS GRANDE ANTIGUA RESORT & SPA
● Reservations are now required for dining at Mario’s and Eleanor’s restaurants.
SANDALS REGENCY LA TOC GOLF RESORT & SPA in St. Lucia
● The amphitheatre was refurbished to include a new hardwood floor for yoga and aerobics.
● The tennis pavilion was refurbished and repainted.
● All rooms at the resort now have refrigerators and are serviced daily with water, juices and soft drinks.
● The Kimono’s Restaurant was repainted to reflect new earth colors.
● An ice cream service cart was introduced near Arizona and the Pizzeria, operating from 11am to 6pm daily.
● A PADI viewing room has been opened at the Watersports department (near the dive pool) where guests can watch the Introductory PADI Dive Certification video. The dive instructor is also present to answer any questions guests may have prior to their dives.
SANDALS HALCYON BEACH, ST. LUCIA
● All plastic lounge chairs around the Paradise Pool were replaced with wooden lounge chairs.
● All plastic chairs on the room balconies/patios (for all room categories) were replaced with straw and metal chairs.
SANDALS GRANDE ST. LUCIAN SPA & BEACH RESORT
● The resort now has a new gazebo – Paradise Gazebo – which has a natural wood coloring.
● Additional hammocks and shades have been placed around the resort.
● All 89 rooms on Blocks 2 and 4 and 65 rooms (top floor only) on Blocks 1, 3, 5 were refurbished to include new moldings, air conditioner upgrades, new lighting fixtures, repainting, new beds/bedding, new drapery, artwork, etc.
BEACHES NEGRIL RESORT & SPA
● 54 rooms on the Santa Cruz block were refurbished with soft furnishings and a paint job, revealing a more contemporary room layout.
BEACHES SANDY BAY
● The Beach Grill has been re-painted.
● A plasma TV, displaying departure information, has been installed at the Front Desk.
● Color-changing night lights have been installed in the main pool and the whirlpool and main pool edges have been repainted.
● All 12 rooms on the Begonia Block were repainted, new ceiling fans installed, re-grouting and re-tiling done, the cupboards repainted and some mouldings replaced.
BEACHES BOSCOBEL RESORT & GOLF CLUB
● The new Pirates Island Water Park is now open and sits on an expansive 27,000 sq ft. area, featuring nine additional slides. There are six new kiddie slides, a Treasure Isle Aqua-Play area complete with water cannons and a treasure chest, a kid’s zone and zero entry kiddie pool completed with a misting crab, a squirting sea turtle and a splashing seahorse. For the not-so-young but young at heart, the Water Park features a tube slide, a body slide and a speed slide. There is also a Water Crawl Cargo Net Aqua-Play Structure, complete with sea creature-themed stepping-stones including a starfish, an oyster shell and a nautilus shell made from soft-play resilient foam. There are now eleven slides in total.
BEACHES TURKS & CAICOS RESORT & SPA
● Schooner’s Restaurant now has lounge furniture on the two boardwalks outside the restaurant.
ROYAL PLANTATION
● The La Terrazza restaurant has been renamed – La Terrace Mediterranean Restaurant.
NEGRIL GARDENS BEACH RESORT
● The hotel began accepting guests on December 20, 2007.
