My family and I stayed at Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina in June of 08'. Here is my take on the resort. As a travel agent, I try to look at everything from all angles to see if my clients would like to stay here or not, and I always go with an open mind. This resort was easy! I would recommend the Hyatt to anyone who likes to:
Relax
Play Golf
Enjoy Spa services
Have friendly people waiting on you by the pool
Watch their kids have a blast in all 3 pools & HUGE hotub
Have a blast WITH their kids in all 3 pools
Play mini-golf
Play air hockey, table tennis, ect. in the game room
Enjoy water sports
Enjoy great food with great service!
Check in was flawless and friendly.
We had a clean water view room with 2 doubles and a balcony with 2 chairs and a small table. Great view! The first day we were there they performed a wedding on the lawn, beautiful job!
We rented the 17' boat down by the water and took it out tubing. I don't think I ever laughed and bounced around so much in my life! I fell out at one point and my son wanted out of the tube because he thought I died! Too Much fun! The people at the water sports rentals were very nice and helpful, would definitely do that again.
We ate at the Blue Point Provision and I think it was possibly the best Rockfish I ever had, my husband had steelhead and loved it also. Service and presentation was perfect. Will definitely eat here again when I go back. We did venture out the second night for dinner in Cambridge at Snappers-what can I say but great food!
There is the Regency Club level room that you can book that provides access all day (different times) for snacks and drinks which we got to check out. There were 2 or 3 house wines to choose from, lots of bottled beer domestic and imported, juices, soda, water. The food that night we were there was make your own steak fajitas, veggies and dip, crackers and cheese. You also had access to a computer to check your emails if you wish. Great water view, relaxing place to play a board game or cards.
Another great place to relax and have a cocktail was Michener's Library, overlooking the Choptank River. I would have loved to stay in there and have drink and make conversation, but had to join my kids and husband in the game room to beat them at table tennis!
The grounds were immaculate, and the resort itself beautiful. When we returned home that second night from dinner at Snapper's, there were deer right up on the front lawn of the resort, almost where you get out of your car for valet!
I will go back as soon as I can. I live in mid-Delaware so it is only 1 hr. and 15 minutes from my house. Great food, fun, and luxury in my back yard!
Honestly I only had one wish, I wish the beds were queen size and not doubles!
