Hi, I am looking into visiting Jamaica. What are the main differences between Riu Negril and Riu Palace Tropical?

Wednesday, 30 November -0001 00:00

Riu Palace Tropical Bay is more upscale than Riu Negril. It has larger, more recently upgraded rooms, slightly more upscale food, and a nicer lobby. Guests staying at Riu Palace Tropical Bay can use the facilities at Riu Negril, but not vice-versa. We'll be glad to assist you in getting rates for both properties (and others we like in Negril).

I am planning a November trip to Beaches Turks and Caicos and found your website. I have the following questions: 1). Room Type: We have three children (9,8, and 5). We will also be traveling with a set of grandparents. We haven't traveled with th

Thanks for the email. 1) You have 3 different primary setups that would work......that would meet your needs. a) You can get a butler Imperial Suite in the Italian Village....these rooms are the concierge level rooms with the attached living room. The kids would sleep on bunk beds, 2 adults in the master bedroom, and 2 adults on the sofa bed. 2 full bath rooms. Butler service. b) You can get 2 concierge level rooms in the Italian Village....it would actually provide more room (2 master beds, 2 kids rooms)...so the kids could split up providing them more room. Rooms aren't connecting but can be next to each other. No butler service. c) You can get a 2 bedroom suite in the Salt Cay section of the original resort....these are the villas towards the beach. They have a master bedroom, 2nd bedroom (2 double beds and a cot)...and a living area with a sofa bed. And butler service. Furniture/design of room is older and but the rooms are larger in size than the I Village rooms....just not as nice. Butler service - we really enjoy it, especially with 2 little kids (3/6)....we primarily use them for: - All meal reservations - never have to wait (not that waits are really bad given the number of options on property) - Snacks/service for the kids...lunch by the pool...treats for them....it really helps us make the trip more special for them, than for us - Coffee/tea in the rooms; room service of meals from any restaurant; water/sodas in coolers on the beach; reserved seats at the shows (especially if running late); reservations for water sports (SCUBA/snorkel, etc.) We've had both butler and not butler.....it's a big help...but not a requirement to enjoying the property. 2) SCUBA - if not certified, you can take either resort course or PADI course on property. Resort course is $75. PADI course is about $300. Resort course limits you to 1 dive/day and only certain dives. SCUBA including equipment is included for no fee. You can take a PADI course at home and then not have to waste the time when you get to property...we are seeing more and more clients do this. 3) Yes - you can still use us and your SSG points...and new points will be earned. SSG bookings no longer include a free room upgrade...went away about 3 years ago....although we are generally good at getting some upgrades for our guests on property due to our relationship....BTC is the hardest since they are usually above 95% occupancy...not many rooms to get upgraded to. Would be glad to assist you and work out your special trip.

I am going to Beaches Turks and Caicos with a tween girl later this year. What building would you recommend we stay in?

Wednesday, 30 November -0001 00:00

Depending on our budget, I would highly recommend the Italian Village rooms. If outside of our budget, we generally prefer the French Village rooms to the Caribbean village rooms...with the French Village walkout rooms our most popular choice. Closest to teen area, waterpark, and shows. We'd be glad to assist you with your reservation.

My family (2 adults, 7 year old, 3 year old and 1. Grandma) would like to go to Jamaica mid January and can't decide between Beaches Negril and Beaches Boscobel ... What would you recommend? Beaches Turks and Caicos is also an option, but is the huge pric

1) Beaches Turks and Caicos is amazing. Nicest family resort in the Caribbean. 2) That's not to say that the other Beaches properties aren't nice also. Beaches Negril is on an amazing stretch of beach with fun lazy river and some smaller slides. Rooms are ok, with a new "village" being built for 2012. Beaches Boscobel has a much newer water slide area, but the beach is on the smaller side. More to do in the Ocho Rios area "off-campus" - activities like Dunns River Falls, Dolphin Encounter, etc. Contact us for all the details.

My husband and I are looking for a resort that will best fit us. We will to stay somewhere that is relaxing during the day nice beach and upbeat nightlife club type during the evening/night. Which resorts would you reccomend to us Thank you

There are some great options..but first - are you looking for nightlife on property or off. If off, I would recommend resorts near Playa del Carmen, Cancun, or Negril (The Royal Playa, Le Blanc Spa, The Royal Cancun, Couples Negril, Couples Swept Away). If looking for nightlife on property, some of our favorites are: Secrets Maroma, Sandals Whitehouse, Excellence Playa Mujeres. All are nice resorts.
