Hi Tripguy! Just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that our vacation was lovely... The Riu Jalisco Resort is truly beautiful! Our rooms were wonderful, and all had balconies. The grounds and hotel itself are lovely! There were actually 2 weddings while we were there and I certainly could see why they chose this spot! The beach is absolutely beautiful too!. The pools both children and adult Were really super. And the young lady at the Funjet Vacations area in the Lobby was wonderful... She was very helpful in every way! ... Our kids enjoyed themselves, they were truly impressed with their rooms! They went into Puerto Vallarta a couple of nights to go "clubbing" and had a good time. They did complain about the $20 US cab fare each way into Puerto Vallarta. It was a couple of expensive evenings for them but such is life! My son played volleyball on the beach and my 3 girls lolled on the beach soaking up the sun. We've all come back with tans and truly enjoyed spending some quality time with each other so I thank you TripGuy Travel for making this time for us possible! Take care Maria

Our vacation was great... ...the Catalonia Bavaro in Punta Cana was wonderful - great (huge) beach, fabulous staff, awesome pool, fun activities, cocktails are a little weird (wine is kind of green) and a frozen mud slide is generally more like a mai tai (but that's very common in the Dominican) a $5 tip to the bartender on the first day helps a lot to find the Bailey's and other "call" - "top shelf" liquors. Food is good, massive buffets require a little searching for the things you like, but we're used to that and found plenty to eat One Breakfast Buffet 6:30 am - 11 am Two Lunch Buffets 12 - 2:30 and 12:30 - 4:00 Poolside: Hot Dogs, hamburgers, chicken, nachos and soft serve ice cream all day 11 am - 6 pm One dinner Buffet 5pm - 10 pm And four a la carte restaurants: 5:30 - 10 pm reservations required, for a 7 night stay you are entitled to 1 visit to each of the following El Paso - Mexican La Parisenne - French Mikado - Japanese La Gondola- Italian ...the French was the best of the bunch, but all food definitely is a derivative of a Spanish dish - some folks loved the Japanese - (beni hanna concept) but working in NYC we are probably snobs about this stuff!! :) it was fine...nothing over the top These also have a Crepe shop (I forget the name) that serves from 4 - 11 pm and it is wonderful. Casino - small but fine - BRING AMERICAN $$ if you like to gamble - it was impossible to get US dollars at the resort and you don't want to get paid in pesos - you just cannot get rid of them Disco - 9pm - ???? (around 2 ish) lots of fun Nightly show - 10 pm - good dancers, lots of silly stuff very fun Sports - too windy to sail or windsurf, kayaking was great, snorkeling ($20 deposit required for equipment per person) on par for the area (reef snorkeling requires an additional purchase to go by boat as it's dangerous to swim out that far - too rough!, no pedal boats - Bocce Ball on the beach, volleyball - Sports were just fine for the moderately active.... ... We would definitely go back again!!!! actually we would like to leave tomorrow :) :) :) Talk to you soon, Best, L.K.

Hi! Everything at the Riu Playacar was really wonderful. We did not take any of the side trips, and it was too choppy to snorkle, but we went parasailing and truly enjoyed the facilities at Riu Playacar. The staff was terrific, the food was excellent, the rooms were beautiful (clean and well-appointed), the beach was breathtaking, and the entertainment was fun. We also enjoyed shopping in Playa del Carmen; we took $5 cab ride there a few times.... Thank you for all your help! Best, J. G.

Hi TripGuy team, Just wanted to let you know we had a good time at the Piramides Hotel in Cancun. The hotel was very nice, very clean, and hotel personnel was pleasant... Beaches are beautiful also. Thanks for everything as always, JB
Hi TripGuy, We had a wonderful trip! The charter (USA 3000) out of Buffalo was superb, a movie and hot meal, that's almost unheard of these days. We liked traveling the "off" hours on Sunday evening, no wait at customs or to check in at the hotel. We had rooms on the 15th floor at the Riu Cancun . The water pressure and temperature were erratic, but the view more than made up for the occasional inconvenience of a tepid shower. We enjoyed the energy and demograghics of this hotel ... The hotel also was just spotless! We're definitely "Riu" people now. I'll give you ample warning before we book our trip next year ; ). Thanks again for all of your help! N .D.
