Club Med Sandpiper

Just got back from a great all inclusive, Club Med Sanpiper. Guess where it is?  Never mind, I'll tell you.  Right here in the good old USA.  That's right, located in Port St Lucie Florida, about 45 minutes from West Palm Beach airport.  This place has everything you would expect to get at an all inclusive in the Caribbean or Mexico, but you  don't need a passport to get there. 

The reosrt has an 18 hole golf course and 22 tennis courts so it is wonderful for anyone who swings a club or racquet.  They also have a lap pool, a quiet pool (must be 18 or over), a large pool for anyone as well as a children's pool with a little water park.  Ther are kid's programs for all ages up to 17.  They have nightly entertainment provided by the staff and they do a really good job.  And finally, they have a trapeze school for anyone brave enough to give it a try. There are also golf and tennis clinics available at no cost.

The rooms have all be redone and can accomodate up to 4, some can handle 5 (2 bedroom 2 bath).  There are two dining choices, one is a sit down outdoor resturarnt offering healthy fare and the other is a huge buffet so many choices it will make you head spin.  There is also wine offered at dinner. You just go to the cooler and take the bottle you would like.

I can't tell you how suprized I was to see what great improvemtns had been done here and am looking forward to going back again

Sandals STAR Awards 2012

TripGuy Travel was one of the big winners at the Sandals STAR awards for Top Sandals and Beaches Travel Agents in 2012.  It just took place at the Sandals Royal Bahamian.

Additionally, Sandals awarded 4 TripGuy agents their Chairman's Royal Club Award for Top Producing Agents - of which there are only 75 in the USA.   Ruth DeMuth and Mitch Toren were named for the 2nd straight year.  Fayette Toren and Jennifer Toren were named 1st time winners for the 2013 year.

Sandals Resorts International, the owners and operators of Grand Pineapple Beach Resorts has announced exciting plans to re-open Grand Pineapple Beach Negril on December 15^th 2012 following an overwhelming response from past guests to the resort’s closure in August. 

According to Gordon “Butch” Stewart, Chairman of Sandals Resorts International, the hotel company’s decision to reopen is in response to customers disappointed by its closing, and as such will re-open for business and accept reservations as of October 16^th 2012.

Stewart commented, “This charming resort has a passionate fan base that truly loves its simple tradition of warm Caribbean hospitality and it seems nothing else will do. Since we announced the closure of the resort this summer, we’ve received countless calls to reconsider, we’ve heard the calls loud and clear and I’m happy to say that we are acting upon them.”

Set on 250 feet of the most beautiful white sand along Negril’s world famous seven-mile beach within walking distance to the village’s shopping district and craft markets, Grand Pineapple Negril is the perfect vacation destination for individuals who seek the intimacy and charm of this Jamaican getaway.

This all-inclusive resort, which boasts 65 colorfully-decorated and well-appointed cottages and manor rooms with large open spaces in expertly manicured gardens, is the perfect setting for an authentic Caribbean experience.

Beaches Ocho Rios Update

Renovations at Beaches Ocho Rios have been temporarily delayed due to inclement weather, and the resort will now officially reopen on November 1, unveiling a $30 million upgrade to the property. Beaches Ocho Rios regrets any inconvenience this closure may have on guests and looks forward to revealing exciting improvements when the resort reopens later this fall.  Guests booked at Beaches Ocho Rios during the closure will be moved to another Beaches Resorts property.  

Following the November 1 reopening, future guests will surely be delighted with the new additions to the resort including: a brand new appearance with four distinct villages, including the hotly anticipated Greek Village; additional restaurants; an enhanced kids program; a revitalized watersports offering; and a plethora of enticing amenities and activities to explore.
